Halloween and New

Owen was a turtle for Halloween. It was a cheap costume and he pretty much hated it, but he sure did look cute! The Becker cousins: Channing, Griffin, and Owen (minus the turtle hat)The Winwood cousins: Hannah, Owen, and Zoe ... minus Jacob. He didn't have his costume on yet!Owen has decided he loves standing up in his crib. He will spend a good 20-30 minutes before nap or bedtime standing, throwing out his paci and then making noise. He doesn't give up either. He will just keep going up and down until he gets tired out.... especially when he is tired to begin with. He has started to "brush" his own teeth now too. He usually throws a screeming fit when we do it for him, but he loves doing it on his own.He discovered 2 pacis in his room after nap because he throws them all over out of his crib. We can't seem to find them half the time, but somehow he knows just where they are. Look how happy he is...October was a busy month. My baby turned 10 months old. He is a mover. He loves standing and walking with things. Just today he has started to attempt to stand without holding onto things, but cannot figure it out. He looks really funny with his butt way up in the air though! He is growing like crazy... weighs just around 21 lbs and is pushing the length limits on his infant carrier. He's got 6 teeth, eats everything, and has developed quite the personality. He also had his first sickness this month... projectile vomit in his bed several times followed by several days of the ick!
On to Thanksgiving!

Buddies

We had a great weekend visiting good friends in Minnesota! This is Brenden. He is 6 months older than Owen. These 2 are gonna be trouble someday!Matt and Keith were college roommates all 4 years at Luther and never go a week without some form of communication. Saturday was a beautiful day so we journeyed out to visit the Minnesota Zoo. It was an interesting mix of animals... no lions, elephants, or giraffes. They did have an array of Midwest wildlife and farm animals as well. Plus the walk through the Tropics with some very noisy monkeys.I'm pretty sure this leopard was hoping for a small snack.Owen's favorite part was the fish. Tired out. He missed the farm animals... he didn't seem too disappointed.

He finally took a couple steps behind his push toy yesterday. He hasn't been too interested to try since but at least we are making progress.

Delicious

Owen had cheesy lasagna for supper tonight and he LOVED it. I did not smear it all over his face... he did that all by himself! Owen got his first "bonk" at daycare on Thursday. He was crawling and sprawled out to get something dove head-first into the wall. He barely shed a tear, but had a nice bruise on his forehead.

Pumpkin Patch

What a beautiful day! We practiced with pumpkins at home earlier in the day.Owen sitting on the scale with a pumpkin weighing the same as he does... 21lbs! The sun was really bright! Since I opted out of 9 month pics for O, I attempted some. I am obviously not the best photographer. An attempt at a family picture as well. That darn sun was just so bright! We enjoyed the swing at Nana and Papa Becker's as well on a beautiful day!

He Crawls!

What a great weekend. We got to enjoy a wonderful Raider win for homecoming on Friday night. Keith and I got to tailgate for the first time this season on Saturday and today was a gorgeous fall day. Owen remains happy as ever. He is 9 months old, weighs almost 21 lbs and is 29.5 in long. He has 6 teeth, feeds himself LOTS of food, and is still a super sleeper!Great grandpa and grandma Borcherding stopped through today to say hello. Owen showed off for them and decided to crawl for the first time. He now crawls!!!!! Its not pretty but he's moving. Our lil man is growing up!
