Happy Birthday

WARNING: Picture Overload!
Owen Daniel Becker turned 1 today. We celebrated with a party at home with family and look back at that year.
Just a week before you arrived.Born 12-26-09 at 2:20pm7lbs 0.5oz, 21.5inLet the party begin!
I just love the look on his face!Nutritious lunch first. Then presents. So BIG!An attempt at a cousin picture. The cake. Nothing fancy... it has been a busy weekend.Did not move or make a sound during "Happy Birthday"Dug in cautiously. He did some damage to the cake but played more than ate it. Just a little on the shirt and not much on him either. Not a messy eater with cake!A "self-timer" attempt at a family picture. O did a little artwork in the bathtub:
All grown up!

More Christmas

Christmas Eve was celebrated with my side of the family. O got many great gifts and had a great night with everyone. He is starting to figure of the present thing, but loses interest half-way through the opening.Mom got Texas Roadhouse gift cards and a free hat comes with... Owen has been playing with the hat today as well. Zoe was so nice to push O around on his new toy. He hasn't figured out how to scoot himself, but loves the music and lights! This morning O woke up to 2 pacis in his crib... what better way to celebrate Christmas. Santa must have left him an extra one.Santa also left O some Mega Blocks!!! He loves digging in the bin. It makes a loud noise!Smiling at daddy. He has become so interactive. He fake coughs or laughs. He knows when to whine. He talks like he is having a conversation. He is growing up!Today was Christmas at Great-Gparent Yanecek's. O didn't last very long... it has been a busy few days, but was happy while we were there. The babies got a rocking chair from the great-gparents. Owen looks to Channy for what to do or how to react most of the time. I love it! I'm so happy he has her to grow up with. When Papa is around, O does not stray too far from his side. He missed most of lunch because he saw him fixing his own plate and was not happy until he could get down and find Papa.

Merry Christmas all! Christmas is over... moving on to O's birthday tomorrow!

Haircut

First, a picture of Owen using a fork. He insisted on using spoons and forks now if he sees them or if anyone around him is using them. He doesn't really get the scoop up thing on his own, but he is getting better. Recently I have been told much more frequently that O really needs a hair cut. I really don't see a problem here. We are going for the "Bieber" look and he is totally pulling it off. Then, last night at bath time, I noticed that his hair touched his eye balls and his sideburns were OUT OF CONTROL!My lil man probably could have had a ponytail. So today daddy and mommy took O to get his very first haircut. He was skeptical of the whole thing from the beginning. But, being the calm kid that he is, he sat back and just people-watched most of the time. She used the clippers and he thought the vibration on his head was hilariousI wish I could have shown you pictures of the total amount of hair falling from his head. It was A LOT. Margie gave him a candy cane towards the end because he was getting impatient. I would not have guessed peppermint would be his thing, but I guess "food" is his thing. This is a bad picture, but this is his my souvenir.
Note: this little "pile" is nothing compared to the actual amount that came off his head. I guess everyone else was right... it was needed!
