Missing

My sweet baby boy who sleeps 8 hours every night has gone missing. He disappeared sometime Monday. The past 2 nights the impostor baby has been waking at 2am to eat and won't take no for an answer. If found, please return....SOON!!!

two months

Yesterday was Owen's 2 month check-up. He was 12lb 11 1/2 oz (75%) and 24 1/4 in long (95%). Amazing that he was only 25% in weight when he was born, but what a good eater! He is healthy overall and doing well developmentally. He doesn't mind tummy time, but is just fine with sleeping on his tummy rather than working to hold his head up. He is starting to reach for things and move his arms and legs when he is excited. He makes many more sounds now too. I always try to catch them on video because they are so darn cute, but he quiets down the minute I get the camera on him...what a stinker! This is the best I could get after many attempts!!!

Keith bought him some new "kicks" this weekend. Probably a little pricey considering they are almost too small already, but daddy spoils his boy sometimes. Better that he does it than me.
Cousin Zoe holding Owen. They are just relaxing and watching Wubbzy. Bath Time.

Weekend Review

This weekend we had some friends visit and Owen got to play with his new buddy Brenden.Owen 2 months old. Brenden 8 months old.
Owen got this new chair in the mail yesterday. It is for birth to 3m. He may still be a little young for it, but he will like it soon I'm sure! I'm hoping it helps with head/neck strength.
He also got a brand new shirt from his Aunt Jen. It is still a little big, but he will be in it soon I'm sure. Check out her other creations at http://littlehousefrau.blogspot.com/
Finally, Owen has found a new favorite sleep position. He is so tired from our busy and FUN weekend!
2 month check-up tomorrow. Poor little guy has to get shots.

Owen Update

Owen will be 8 weeks old tomorrow. I STILL can't believe how fast the time goes. He changes so much every day. His 2 month checkup is on Monday and I'm ready to see where he fits in with other babies his age. I know that he is getting close to 24in and I jumped in the scale with him last night....close to 13lbs!!! Above he is playing with his favorite toy. It is a stuffed zebra that was a gift from my cousin in South Africa. He LOVES it! He smiles at it, talks to it and will just stare at it for many minutes at a time.

This hat was a gift from Diane before the little guy was born. It is size "infant" but still too big. Hopefully his big head isn't too big for it this time next year.

Owen is still a super sleeper. He goes to bed sometime around 9 or 10 and wakes to eat around 5am. He eats a little, not much, and goes back to sleep within a half hour of waking. He then sleeps a couple more hours then we get up for the day and play. Around 12:30 he goes does for his nap and sleeps about 3 hours! I usually have to wake him from his nap to feed him and then he sleeps for another hour or so!!! The swing has become one of his favorite spots to sleep. He also loves to sleep in his vibrating chair. He doesn't care if they are "on" he just likes them. And he prefers to be all snugly with his blanket for naps.
We have friends coming from MN this weekend and can't wait to see them! They have a little guy about 8 months old so it will be fun to see the boys together.
Have a good weekend!

Like a baby

That's right...my little man slept "like a baby" last night. He ate at 9pm, went to sleep at 10, then woke up a little after 6am. I know....I was really excited too! It may not happen again for a few weeks so I have to celebrate while I can. I, however, was up at 4 and again at 5:30 checking on him. Not his fault. No complaints from me.

I did find him like this at 4 though (the picture was taken later when he woke obviously)!
I'm sure glad we took that sleep positioner out of his bed. He really moves when he sleeps!

Anyway, today Keith and I got out for VDay. We had a nice lunch at Texas Roadhouse...LOVE the biscuits and butter! We also went to see Valentine's Day. It was very funny and, although predictable, still unpredictable with some twists. I would recommend it. We did go to the 1:45 show and the theater was still very full. Also, the preview for Sex and the City 2 played. It comes out this summer. I'm so excited! Who's in?

I'll leave you with a picture of my special Valentine. Have a wonderful day tomorrow!!!
Happy Valentine's Day!

Growing

"Who you callin' chunky?"

Owen, 9 days old.
Owen, 6 weeks old.
He is growing so fast! He is getting too long for his 3 month clothes. His size 1 diapers are barely holding in his poo. He has rolls on his arms and a couple chins! It is going way too fast.

Last night we had a wonderful time cheering on the colts in the Superbowl! This was one of many pictures taken and the best one that I had...maybe one of the other moms had better luck! Aren't they cute? With 4 more babies on the way...the number will almost double by the end of the summer.

"That was a lot of work"

Last night we had church pictures. The guy taking pictures definately did NOT have kids nor had he been around many...at least very young babies. After spending 5 minutes trying to get Owen to hold his head up... (He is not even 6 weeks old!!!!!) we moved onto try for a big Becker Family picture. Owen and Channing were ready to be done. Owen was hungry and just tired of it all. The picture man took FOREVER lining everyone up and trying to get us all in the PERFECT spot with our heads turned in just the right direction! Meanwhile, Owen and Channing were staying fairly calm. Then, when he was FINALLY ready to actually take the picture, Owen let it all out! He cried and threw his head back and screamed. I tried to calm him as the man told me to "put the plug back in her" and "just hold her real close and calm her down quick." Yes, he called my son a girl multiple times and did not realize that he is not even 6 weeks old and will not just calm down after a few seconds when he is tired and hungry! I tried for a couple minutes and then decided that poor Owen was done. Those other Becker kids were fantastic, but Owen ruined the pictures. We will just have to try again when he gets a little older and maybe with someone a little more kid friendly. Also, you can tell I'm new to this whole "mommy" thing because he did calm down as soon as I put the bottle in his mouth (which I knew). BUT, I did leave the bottle in the car... not just a quick grab away. I am learning quickly that I should always have everything just an arm's length away!
We had pizza at Dan and Ruth's afterward and I did manage to get a couple cute pictures of the kids!
Owen continues to get bigger everyday. He's putting on about a pound per week (10.5lbs Monday) and is about 24" long. He has a new mobile in his room and enjoys being carried in his new snuggly carrier!

Owen is getting much stronger and better at holding his head up. 6 weeks old tomorrow!!!

Owen's Baptism

Owen was baptized yesterday at the Methodist church. He did very well during church...guess that means we need to start taking him more often! He is old enough now to be getting out more regularly. The Allens and the Beckers were Owen's godparents. Keith and I are very lucky to have siblings (and their spouses) that love our child just as their own.

My family was able to make it in from Hampton, and surrounding, for Owen's special day.
After church, we had a nice brunch at Seven Villages. I LOVE brunch! Eggs, pancakes, potatoes, ham...I could go on! We also had cake and ice cream. DELICIOUS!!!!!!

I also wanted to share a picture of my new necklace! I got it in the mail today and absolutely LOVE it! It is from Lisa Leonard and has Owen's name on the front and birthday on the back.
I'll leave you with a picture of Owen from today. My MIL was over today to watch Owen while I ran a few errands. She was able to get some smiles out of my baby....I think that Keith and I work much harder to get smiles from this little man... we are JUST his parents!!!
