Birthday, Christmas, and a new baby

Owen turned 2 on the 26th. We celebrated his birthday earlier this month just in case the baby decided to come a little earlier.

He had a construction theme.

 Reid Allen Becker arrived Christmas night. He was a big boy... 8lbs 3oz, 20.5in long.

Fall Update

Let's start by saying "Go Hawks!" Daddy went to the game this weekend in MN which left O and I home all alone for a few days. Thank goodness it is still nice enough to get out of the house!In early October, when the weather was still quite warm, we played at the park in a big pile of leaves. O was not so sure about jumping in them or even touching them at all. We got the halloween costume out a few weeks ago to introduce it and get him comfortable in it so that it wouldn't be a struggle when the big day came. He loves his monkey costume and routinely asks to wear his "ah ah"... which is what monkeys say, of course!We recently made a trip to Decorah as well. Our good friends met us there and Owen got to reconnect with his good friend, Brenden! We don't see them enough, but the boys are starting to remember each other!

Here is a 31 week belly shot. We have under 10 weeks until we are a family of 4! I'm feeling great just ready for the baby to come out. Owen is excited too. He tells the baby "get out, get out, get out!" He also tells us that the baby will sleep in his crib with him and that he will share his paci and tractors with the baby. We will see about all of that.O really enjoys helping cook. He listens really well and I'm usually the one making the mess or dropping things!

Pumpkins

Owen has been thoroughly enjoying his new tractor, an early birthday present from Nana and Papa B. He perfers to have something in his wagon rather than just drive the tractor without. He especially loves putting his lawn mower in the back and driving it around then taking it out to mow the grass, just like Papa does.He also insists on mowing with daddy. He is a big helper. Today we went to Carroll's Pumpkin Farm in Grinnell. It was a beautiful day and we had a wonderful time. There a many things to do there and I'm sure Owen will have even more fun as he gets older. He was not so sure about the cow wagon train so momma went along.

Move it. Dig it. Do it.

Despite the rainy weather, we had a great time at an outdoor event put on by the Children's Museum today. Owen got to get into all sorts of "tractors". We got to take a short hay rack ride with our friend Jake as well. Owen does not like pitures with his momma.This is now how Owen rides his dump truck around our house. This was completely self-taught.He also enjoys climbing into the rocking chair and eating his snack or watching Bob the Builder.

Kansas City Vacation

We went to Kansas City this weekend for a little Becker vacation. What a great idea Nana and Papa Becker! We stayed at Great Wolf Lodge indoor water park. Owen with his souvenier wolf ears.Owen LOVED the water slides... not wanting to go at first, but warmed up immediately and went down time after time.

We also got to spend the day at the zoo. Owen loved the animals. I wish we had a zoo closer that we could visit more often. The polar bear they had at the zoo was a young bear and loved to play. He was quite the water acrobat as well.Silly Owen. He did awesome on the drive and in the hotel!

One last picture to share: Owen on Griffin's tractor. He LOVES this tractor! He is getting pretty good at driving it himself. Our little boy has quite the love for any sort of tractor or construction equipment.

Our little stinker is not easy to photograph. He doesn't hold still and he just doesn't like his picture taken! I just can't believe he'll be 2 in a few months!!!!Lots of cooking around our house.
